#TheLeopardQueen, Tshedi launches Victory…
And she is here, she has arrived, the leopard queen herself…….
Tshedi, of Malaika fame, is back on the music scene, this time on her own with a new album titled Victory. After years of blazing the charts as part of the trio Malaika, Tshedi has branched out on her own and taken the proverbial solo plunge.
Although this might take her fans by surprise, Tshedi says this has been a childhood dream of hers, to be a solo artist.
The new album is her offering to her fans. It’s a reflection of her new persona, her growth in terms of creativity, yet it still captures the good old energy and musical style that she believes has always been hers, her trademark, even before Malaika.
The single has got the vibe of a mixture of the good old wedding song, soul with up tempo dance beats. A kasie-style vibe with a mix of contemporary dance beat.
“It will remind my fans of the good old Tshedi that they know it will assure them that they have not lost her.”
Some of the lucky fans got the taste of this new phenomenon when she performed during the Anthony Hamilton show on August 9th 2012, at the Northgate Dome in Johannesburg, when the US soul and RnB crooner was in the country.
She says the album is full of “fun” songs.
“There are no sad songs about loss, anger etc. This album celebrates everything, from relationships, love and life, men and women.” No male-bashing, some of the songs say to men: “Come on board, we do need you even though we are independent and powerful”.
