Samuel L. Jackson to appear in local soap Generations

Fans of the top soapy in South Africa will be treated to an appearance by Hollywood actor, Samuel L. Jackson in tonight’s episode (31/05/2013).

Jackson, one of Hollywood’s highest grossing stars, shot the episode while he was in the country filming the live action remake of the 1998 Japanese anime classic ‘Kite’ in Johannesburg.

He appears in a scene with Winnie Modise, who plays Khethiwe. The show’s creator Mfundi Vundla, also appears alongside Jackson in the scene where the actor gives advice to Khethiwe. The episode will air on Friday May 31st at 8 pm.

This won’t be the first time he graces our local screens he made an appearances at our version of the Emmy Awards the South African Film & Television Awards (SAFTA’s) and is known to be good friends with South African actor Menzi Ngubane who is also in Generations.

The Hollywood actor has appeared in over 100 movies (minor roles & cameos included) including blockbusters like Shaft, Changing Lanes, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Pulp Fiction which earned him his first and only Oscar nomination.
