Cape Town Is Hit By Bieber Fever
I’m going to try to put my personal opinion of Justin Bieber aside so I can write this article & trust me when say at this point I’ve already thought of like 6 insults! But those will stay in my head so I can bring a credible & news worthy article.
Now that that’s over with let’s get to the crux of the matter he was named one of the most powerful celebrities in the world & he’s not even done with puberty yet!
So it was no surprise that when Canadian teen pop phenomenon Justin Bieber tweeted “Trying to get to South Africa” on Monday it caused a buzz on Twitter (He is the most followed celebrity on Twitter after all, even though half of his 37 million followers aren’t genuine).
Thousands of teenage girls (and grown women) were gripped by Bieber Fever to the extent that some of them braved the cold weather and camped outside the venue the day before the concert so they could get inside earlier.
The Bieb (apparently that’s what they call him) went on stage just before 9 pm and belted out some of his hits including ‘All around the world’, ‘Never Say Never’ and ‘Beauty and a Beat’ to a crowd of about 50 000 screaming teens packed into Cape Town stadium.
Some of the craziest stories that came out of the concert include The bell at Wynberg Girls High School yesterday being changed to the tune of the 19-year-old pop singer’s hit “Baby” and Cape Town resident Deidre Ribbonaar coughing up R20 000 for 10 golden circle tickets on the black market – for herself, her daughter and eight nieces.
The South African leg of his “Believe World Tour” concludes on Sunday May 12th when performs at the FNB Stadium so until then expect more crazy stories of his fans showing just how much they ‘Believe’.
